BMW R100 springer cafe racer
The Survivor is the first unit of a limited edition of 10 units by Lord Drake Kustoms.
In this project, Fran Manen started from the front end and installed a very unusual Springer fork matched with an hyperclassic drum brake rim. According to Fran, one of the most difficult thing in building this motorcycle was the design of the new rear suspension system: the swingarm was modified, the subframe was removed and the frame was modified in order to fit two shock absorbers under the seat.
The new handlebar is perfectly clean, while the levers are inverted: the dashboard hosts the Motogadget Speedometer and a very original button panel. The custom fuel tank was adapted to the frame backbone in order to hide the re-engineered electrics. The bobber-type leaf spring seat support, the button panel located in front of the gas tank, the license plate holder, the battery box or the rear fender and their brackets have been entirely handmade. Brown leather, white powder paint and chrome plating combined with antiqued brass plating parts have colored this impressive BMW with springer fork.
