Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200 "Super Road" by Le Weekend de Course

Gwenael Barthelemy wanted to build a modern special ADV bike with good transport capabilities, available to be used as a daily commuter. Gwenael reports that, once at work, he found most of the design solutions very obvious, while he spent the greater part of his efforts in defining the details that made this project something really new and personal. The rear bag carrier matches the design of the seat - made by Sellerie Dubouloz in Geneva - inspired by the pattern of the TKC80 tires. This expandable device allows to carry significant pieces of luggage without affecting the lines of the bike and the side encumbrance. Same attention was paid to the rear part of the seat which hosts a very convenient rack. The front light fairing houses the speedomeeter and a mobile phone holder with its battery charging wire. The red stripes on the tank are leather made and can be easily removed. There is a gas tank cup holder to be used when refueling. The design of the led indicators is also very personal. The front fairing, the rear seat rack and the side expandable bag carrier were built by Jake from Apiata Metal Shaping (FR). The paintjob is by Carrosserie Corbex Sa in Geneva, who also made the gas tank cup holder and dealt with the exhaust system.

Gwenael Barthelemy voleva realizzare una moderna special ADV con buone capacità di trasporto e la comodità di un commuter. Gwenael racconta che, una volta al lavoro, ha trovato che la maggior parte delle soluzioni progettuali erano ovvie, e ciò gli ha consentito di dedicare la maggior parte dei suoi sforzi alla definizione dei dettagli che hanno reso questo progetto  nuovo e personale. Il portaborse posteriore riprende il design della sella - realizzata dalla Sellerie Dubouloz a Ginevra - ispirato al disegno dei pneumatici TKC80. Questo dispositivo espandibile permette di trasportare bagagli importanti senza inficiare le linee della moto e l'ingombro laterale. Stessa attenzione è stata riservata alla parte posteriore della sella che ospita un comodissimo portapacchi a scomparsa. La carenatura del faro anteriore ospita il tachimetro e un porta cellulare con relativo cavo di ricarica. Le strisce rosse sul serbatoio sono in pelle e possono essere facilmente rimosse. C'è un comodo portatappo carburante da utilizzare durante il rifornimento. Anche il design degli indicatori di direzione a led è molto personale. La carenatura anteriore, il portapacchi del sedile posteriore e il portaborse espandibile sono stati costruiti da Jake di Apiata Metal Shaping. La verniciatura è della Carrosserie Corbex Sa di Ginevra che ha anche realizzato il portabicchieri del serbatoio del gas e si è occupata del sistema di scarico.
