Late 70’s FXS Shovelhead “Old Wine”
by Revival of the Machine, Bolt Motor co. and HD Spain for Hard Rock Hotels
This classic beauty has been designed by the creative team at Revival of the Machine magazine with the help of Alberto Caimi and the sponsorship of Harley-Davidson Spain.
The bike was built by Bolt Motor Co. They dismantled the Showelehad completely, and put it through a thorough restoration and modification process in order to make the ambitious final design chosen by Revival a reality. The engine was meticulously restored and serviced (including seals, bushings, gaskets, guides, cams and ignition programming), the speeds were increased from four to six and also the carburetion and combustion were improved, adding double burgundy. A hydraulic system was added for the clutch, in addition to the electrical system, which was completely refurbished using Motogadget components. The new shocks are by Hagon, forks were improved and a Brembo’s radial and oversized braking system was installed. Other components are the specially designed exhaust for a very old school sound, the Renthal handlebar, the handmade risers. The entire stainless steel bodywork, including the tail, the front mask, the keel, the footrests and the lenticular rim, in addition to many other pieces were created exclusively for this project by Bolt Motors. The fuel tank is a recing BSA part from the 1960s etc. The painting work is signed by Rafa García-Cano (the expert painter of Formula 1 helmets). It consists of a very elegant combination of black, grey and Gold. The Old Wine’s official presentation was held at the Hard Rock Hotel in Tenerife and it has been the special guest at the inauguration of the Hard Rock Hotel in Madrid.
