1971 Honda CL350 Scrambler resto-mod by John Thompson

In the early seventies, the Honda CL350 was the average City Life (CL) bike cruising the roads back in the day. After sitting for more than fortyfive years in a barn, John wanted to bring this beauty back to what it would be in the modern day. A “Casual Life” cruiser which is better suited for the beach life, or the country back road, fence post passing machine. This bike already had the “Pretty Girl” looks it just needed to be refined and given the confidence for the modern day travels. Updating the front end with new bars, grips, controls and LED lights makes for a more comfortable and stylish look. The carbs were also rejetted to open up the flow to accommodate the UNI pod filters and the exhaust mods that makes this modern day beach bum look as loud as it sounds. New tracker dual sport shoes were added for the multi terrain conditions it will encounter in is new life. John said “I’ve rebuilt many bikes, but giving this bike a new fresh look really seemed to make it smile, and me and others as well”. And here, at Inazuma café, we are happy to confirm! 

Nei primi anni settanta, la Honda CL350 era il classico commuter cittadino (da qui, l’acronimo CL, City Life) che vedevi per le strade tutti i giorni. Abbandonata per più di quarantacinque anni in un fienile, John ha voluto riportare questa bellezza alla contemporaneità. Una "Casual Life" cruiser, più adatta alla spiaggia, o alle strade di campagna, per saltare una staccionata. Questa moto è già carica di fascino e stile nella sua versione di serie e aveva solo bisogno di un aggiornamento per conferirle l’affidabilità che oggi si chiede a ogni motocicletta. L'aggiornamento dell’avantreno con il nuovo manubrio, manopole, comandi e luci a LED la rende confortevole ed elegante. I carburatori sono stati mantenuti e aggiornati per accogliere i filtri per aprire il flusso per accogliere i filtri a spugna UNI e le modifiche all’impianto di scarico rendono questa tipa da spiaggia appariscente e alla moda. John le ha comprato anche delle nuove scarpe sportive dual tracker perché sia pronta a affrontare ogni occasione della sua nuova vita. "Ho ricostruito molte moto – dice John - ma dare a questa moto un nuovo look mi ha messo di buon umore e credo faccia quest’effetto anche a chi la guarda".
