Christian's Benelli 354 Sport rebuilt (Inazumized color!)

This Benelli has benn named 512M after one of the most iconic Italian racing cars, the Ferrari 512M Endurance. The donor bike was found in a dusty garage, abandoned for nearly twenty years. The 354 Sport has a small engine, mostly a CB350 Honda replica, offering honest performance, but not enough to match the standards of Plan B. It was hence swapped for a 500cc powertrain with double the power output and much more torque. The engine was fine tuned and fitted in a smaller and lighter frame. The rear end of the bike was completely chopped off and replaced with an adjustable monoshock system from Gears Racing bolted to a lightweight aluminum subframe that supports the seat. The lithium battery and fuse box are within the subframe as well. The engine heads were upgraded and widened to allow the engine to breathe better, and a Dynathech electronic ignition system was installed. The rear suspension requires great stopping power, so the front and rear systems are now coming from a Buell M2. A big 340mm rotor with six pot calipers fits the 18" wheels perfectly, the only original parts remaining. The stock rims are wearing Avon tires made for vintage racing. The custom exhaust system is 4 in 1 in 2 in 4 paired with four HP Corse hydroform silencers. The complete custom bodywork features a new gas tank shaped out of 0.8mm steel, with a transparent window on each side to to allow the fuel level control, and the fairing built with fiberglass with the bellypan, air scoops and the lower part is made out of aluminium. The cockpit of the frame integrates nearly all the controls and 2 classic veglia gauges. The sidestand is controlled from the cockpit and it hides under the aluminium bellypan. Nice staff...

Questa vecchia Benelli 354 è stata battezzata 512M in omaggio a una delle più famose auto da corsa italiane, la Ferrari 512M Endurance. La base è stata reperita in un garage polveroso, abbandonata da quasi vent'anni. La 354 Sport ha un piccolo motore, per lo più una replica del CB350 foor Honda, che offre prestazioni oneste, ma non sufficienti per soddisfare gli standard di Plan B. È stato quindi sostituito con un 500cc con il doppio della potenza e molta più coppia. Il motore è stato messo a punto e montato in un telaio reso più piccolo e leggero. La parte posteriore della moto è stata completamente smontata e sostituita con un sistema monoammortizzatore regolabile Gears Racing imbullonato a un sottotelaio in alluminio leggero che supporta il sedile. Anche la batteria al litio e la scatola dei fusibili si trovano nel telaio sottosella. Le teste del motore sono state lavorate e per consentire al motore di respirare meglio ed è stato installato un sistema di accensione elettronica Dynathech. Le sospensioni posteriori richiedono grande potenza frenante, quindi i sistemi anteriore e posteriore ora provengono da una Buell M2. Un grande disco da 340 mm morso da una pinza a sei pistoncini si adatta perfettamente alle ruote da 18", le uniche parti rimaste originali. I cerchi di serie ora indossano pneumatici Avon realizzati per le gare di moto d'epoca. Il sistema di scarico artiginale è un "4 in 1 in 2 in 4" abbinato a quattro  Silenziatori HP Corse idroformati. La carrozzeria completamente artiginale e presenta un nuovo serbatoio in acciaio da 0,8 mm, con una finestra trasparente su ciascun lato per consentire il controllo del livello del carburante, e la carenatura costruita in fibra di vetro con la parte inferiore, le prese d'aria realizzata in alluminio. Il cupolino integra quasi tutti i comandi e 2 strumenti veglia classici. Il cavalletto laterale è controllato dal cockpit e si nasconde nel sottocarena in alluminio. Cose belle...
