The modern Indian Scout lakester “Spirit of Munro Scout” tested @ El Mirage
On Aug. 26, 1967, New Zealander Burt Munro set a land speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats on a self-modified 1920 Indian Scout, a record that still stands today. This Aug.13, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Munro’s iconic land speed record, Indian Motorcycle is teaming up with Kiwi road racer Lee Munro, Burt Munro’s great nephew, to recreate a historic run at Bonneville.
Il 26 agosto 1967, il neozelandese Burt Munro stabilì sul lago salato di Bonneville uno straordinario record di velocità su una Indian Scout del 1920 autocostruita, un record che resiste ancora oggi. Il 13 agosto, per festeggiare il cinquantesimo anniversario di quel record, la Indian Motorcycle sta collaborando con il corridore Lee Munro, il pronipote di Burt Munro, per riprodurre lo storico evento.
