BMW R1200R: Goodwood 12

Awesome 2016 R1200R "Goodwood 12" by VTR Customs 

The inspiration comes from the historic Bentley from the '30s: the Blower and her heirs. Those cars were all English racing green with brushed aluminum parts and tobacco leather interior. That's why the name Goodwood. Unfortunately, I don’t really like the shade of green used by VTR for this beautiful fighter... Because it is not a racing green but an acid colour which doesn’t match my tastes. And hence, I have just inazumized the bike, as usual in these cases, turning the green into an avion blue. On the contrary, I liked a lot the "pissed off bull” effect, which I like to define BSTA: broad shoulders, tight ass. Just like my Inazuma. Yeah. The tail is aluminium made and it costed, alone, a week and a half of work. Radical Slim Line and taillight ultrasmall. Aluminum also for the shark gills on the fuel tank and for the fenders. Clip-on handlebars and yellow round headlight give the necessary cafe racer look. The Kineo spoke wheels are spectacular, with a 6" channel at the rear, they fit tubeless tires. The exhaust is Akrapovic, titanium made. The air filters are by K&N. 

L'ispirazione è arrivata dalle storiche Bentley da corsa degli anni '30, la Blower e le sue eredi: erano English Racing Green con parti in alluminio spazzolato e interni in pelle color tabacco. Da qui, il nome Goodwood. Solo che a me il verde di questa bella fighter non è piaciuto… Perché non è un vero racing green ma una tonalità acida che non gradisco (“chi di verde si veste, troppo di sua beltà si fida”). E io, come faccio in questi casi, l’ho inazumizzato con un blu avion. Bello invece l’effetto “toro incazzato” che io amo definire SLECS: spalle larghe e culo stretto. Proprio come la mia Inazuma. Quello si che mi è piaciuto. Il codino è in alluminio ed è costato, da solo, una settimana e mezza di lavoro. Radical Slim Line e fanale posteriore ultrasmall. Alluminio anche per le branchie da squalo sul serbatoio e per i parafanghi. Semimanubri e faro tondo giallo conferiscono il necessario look cafe racer. I cerchi a raggi Kineo sono spettacolari, con canale da 6" al posteriore, calzano pneumatici tubeless. Lo scarico è Akrapovic in titanio. I filtri aria K&N.
