Max had the idea to build this bike 7 years ago, when he used to work on cars but occasionally built motorcycles for his friends. Eventually he found his way building special bikes, with his particular style based on his own project and style: the K.B.FreeWings. This 1998 Yamaha XJR400 has been completely rebuilt . In particular, the rear end has been completely redesigned with a lighter subframe and a new seat , which are however able to bear two passengers, and the new bespoke swingarm and suspension system using a couple of Ohlins shocks in an unusual position. The new tank is the pride of Max: he cut the the stock fuel tank in several pieces and rebuilt it according to his own design, The electrics has been redesigned and simplified and repositioned under the tank. Finally, the muffler has been replaced with alighter and smaller component. Damn cool!
L'idea di costruire questa moto venne a Max sette anni fa, quando lavorava ancora sulle automobili, ma di tanto in tanto realizzava delle moto per i suoi amici. Alla fine ha trovato la sua strada aprendo un’officina di moto speciali, da lui progettate e costruite secondo il suo stile personale: la K.B.FreeWings. Questa XJR400 del 1998 è stata completamente ricostruita. In particolare, lil retrotreno è stato completamente riprogettato con un controtelaio più leggero e una nuova sella, che sono però in grado di sopportare due passeggeri, e il nuovo sistema di sospensioni e forcellone autocostruito, con la coppia di ammortizzatori Ohlins in posizione davvero insolita. Il nuovo serbatoio è l'orgoglio di Max: ha tagliato il componente di serie in diversi pezzi e l’ha ricostruito secondo il suo proprio disegno. L'impianto elettrico è stato riprogettato e semplificato, quindi riposizionato sotto il serbatoio. Infine, lo scarico: il terminale è stato sostituito con uno più piccolo e leggero. Dannatamente bella!
