FMW Tugboat

Turning a Mazinga's motard like the 2005 Honda FMX650 into a tracker is not that difficult. But turning it into a Tugboat is a matter of Fugar Metal Worker...

Trasformare una motard per Mazinga come la Honda FMX650 in una tracker non è poi così difficile. Ma trasformarla in un rimorchiatore è un lavoro per Fugar Metal Worker...

The cheap and quite Honda FMX 650 introduced in 2005 but with frame and engine clearly inherited by the Dominator from the 80's, is a perfect base for a modern tracker with a classic look. The performances can be easily improved with new carb, filter and exhaust and the engine can be further tweaked raising the stock power of only 37 HP to well over 50. The stock components are good and the Showa inverted forks are a plus. FMW is one of the few to catch the potential of this bike and this is at least at his second build of this type. Since the stock bike is provided with 17" rims, the base bike can be either turned into a street tracker or a scrambler, wearing the best tires available and matching the tastes of the owner... I'm seriously thinking to take one for me as fun bike. 

L'economica e tranquilla Honda FMX 650, presentata nel 2005, ma con telaio e motore chiaramente ereditati dalla Dominator degli anni '80, è una base perfetta per una tracker moderna ma dal look classico. Le prestazioni possono essere facilmente migliorate con nuovi carburatore, filtro e scarico e il motore può essere ulteriormente ottimizzato, portando la potenza di serie di soli 37 HP a oltre 50. La componentistica è buona e la forcella rovesciata Showa è un plus. FMW è uno dei pochi ad apprezzare le potenzialità di questa moto ed è almeno alla sua seconda realizzazione di questo tipo. Dal momento che la moto è dotata di serie di cerchi da 17", la base può essere trasformata in una tracker stradale o in una scrambler, indossando le migliori gomme a disposizione e confacendosi ai gusti del proprietario... Sto seriamente pensando di prenderne una per me come fun bike. 

In this case FMW opted for a scrambler with fat wheels. That's why the name Tugboat. The entire subframe has been rebuilt, the swingarm modified and the bodywork handmade in aluminium. Several nice details makes this bike another charmy beauty. The inazumized photoshoot is by Ruben Lagattolla.

In questo caso FMW ha optato per una scrambler con le ruote cicciottelle. Un rimorchiatore, o Tugboat, appunto. Il telaio ausiliario è stato completamente ricostruito. Il forcellone modificato e la carrozzeria fatta a mano in alluminio. Molti dettagli sfiziosi rendono questa moto un'altra fascinosa bellezza.
