Founded in 1958 by Giuseppe Pattoni (1926-1999) and Lino Tonti, two former employees of the Mondial Racing Team which had just shut down, Paton began his activity tuning some Mondial 125, modifying their engines into a DOHC. With one of these bikes, the young Mike Hailwood began his incredible career, and in that year, he was 7th in the Tourist Trophy and winner on the Silverstone Race track. After Tonti resigned in 1960, Pattoni affirmed his brand in the world of motorcycle racing thanks to his custom made machines, competing on equal terms with the extremely performing Jap and sometimes beating them. His son Roberto, ten years ago, restarted the Pattoni production on a smaller scale, and today he propose this special ultra-light bike (158 kg) for a few: a Kawasaki twin-cylinder engine of 650 cc in a vaguely English tube frame, with spoke rims on hubs that are a sculpture and the historical colors. Fondata nel 1958 da Giuseppe Pattoni (1926-1999) e Lino Tonti, due ex dipendenti del reparto corse della Mondial, dopo la sua chiusura, la Paton iniziò la sua attività trasformando in bialbero alcune Mondial 125. Con una di queste moto, il giovane Mike Hailwood iniziò la sua incredibile carriera e in quell’anno arrivò 7° al Tourist Trophy e conquistò la vittoria sul Circuito di Silverstone. Dopo la fuoriuscita di Tonti nel 1960, Pattoni si affermò nel mondo delle corse con le sue macchine semiartigianali, riuscendo spesso a competere ad armi pari con le velocissime giap, talvolta vincendo. Suo figlio Roberto, che ha ripreso in scala ridotta l’attività della Pattoni da ormai 10 anni, oggi, propone questa special ultraleggera (158 kg) per pochi: motore Kawasaki bicilindrico fronte marcia di 650 cc, telaio in tubi, dal sapore vagamente anglosassone, cerchi a raggi e mozzi che sono una scultura… Il colore è quello storico della casa.
