Modern bikes are not hopeless. This seems to be the teaching of Gunnar, owner of the House of Custom, 37 y.o. mechanic, who, while replacing a dented tank to a 2012 Kawasaki Z750, found that even this modern missile has got a tube frame (see below). So, he decided to build a super-performing modern classic. He modified the bike’s frame to accommodate a tank from a 1968 CB250 and hid a secondary aluminium tank beneath it, as the bike runs fuel injection. Then he built a proper classic seat to complete the basic bodywork. The airbox was replaced with custom carbon fibre velocity stacks. Finally everything has been remapped with a Dynojet Power Commander V. A handmade battery box was also fitted under the tail, while the swingarm and frame were cleaned and rebuilt. Le moto moderne non sono senza speranza. Questo sembra essere l'insegnamento di Gunnar, meccanico di 37 anni e artefice della House of Custom, che, nel sostituire un serbatoio ammaccato ad una Kawasaki Z750 del 2012, ha scoperto che questo moderno missile ha un telaio in tubi (guardate oltre in questo post). Così, ha deciso di realizzare una superperformante modern classic. Ha modificato il telaio per ospitare un serbatoio di una CB250 del 1968 e dentro ci ha nascosto un serbatoio secondario in alluminio per ospitare la pompa dell’iniezione elettronica. Poi ha costruito una sella classica, adatta a completare l’essenziale carrozzeria. L'airbox è stato sostituito con cornetti di aspirazione in fibra di carbonio realizzati appositamente. Il tutto è stato rimappato con una Dynojet Power Commander V. La scatola della batteria è stata fatta a mano e nascosta sotto la coda, mentre il forcellone e telaio sono stati lucidati e ricostruiti.
