Yamaha TT by Nero Opaco

The TT500 was created by Yamaha in Japan in 1981, and was designed for the Desert Race market in the USA. Essentially a heavily modified and stripped down XT500, the TT500 became popular among American riders who appreciated its performance, reliability and rugged character. In Europe the popularity of on/off road machines was growing and there was a booming market for big single dual purpose motorcycles. Desert race events such as the Paris-Dakar greatly enhanced the image of the large displacement 4-stroke dirt bike in the off road world, while urban riders found the seating position and high-torque engine of the TT600 ideal for use in the busy streets of the cities. My friends of Nero Opaco in Padua are mostly popular for their custom builds based on HD donor bikes, and that’s the reason why their bike are not crowding the Inazuma café racer blog. Nevertheless, their ability to build café racers and street-trackers is out of discussion (see here for example) and sometimes they release bikes like this TT which actually move something inside the Inazuma readers. 

La TT500 fu creata da Yamaha nel 1981 per il mercato USA delle gare nel deserto. Di base una XT500 denudata e pesantemente modificata, la TT500 divenne popolare tra i piloti americani che ne apprezzavano prestazioni, affidabilità e carattere. In Europa la popolarità delle moto on/off road era in crescita e ci fu una forte espansione del mercato per i grandi mono di questo tipo. Le gare motociclistiche nel deserto, come la Parigi-Dakar potenziarono l' immagine delle moto da cross a 4 tempi di grossa cilindrata, mentre i motociclisti di città trovavano la posizione di guida e la coppia elevata del TT600 ideale per l'uso nelle strade trafficate. I miei amici di Nero Opaco di Padova sono per lo più noti per le loro HD custom, e questo è il motivo per cui le loro moto non affollano il mio blog. Tuttavia, la loro capacità di realizzare cafe racer e street-tracker di gran qualità è fuori discussione (guardate qua ad es.) e talvolta realizzano progetti come questa TT che in realtà muovono qualcosa dentro i lettori di Inazuma.
