My Facebook friend Nuno Capêlo was born 35 years ago on Madeira Island, in Portugal. Now he lives in Oporto where years ago he got his degree in architecture and where he has just completed his first build: a 1987 Suzuki GSX400 which took him one year and a half of hard work in the sparetime. Before starting the construction of the Dented Brat, Nuno posted some drawings of his projects on the board of Café Racer 351 website. Il mio amico di Facebook Nuno Capêlo è nato 35 anni fa sull'isola di Madeira, in Portogallo. Ora vive a Oporto, dove anni fa si è laureato in architettura e dove ha appena completato la sua prima special: una Suzuki GSX400 del 1987 che gli ha richiesto un anno e mezzo di duro lavoro nel tempo libero. Prima di iniziare la costruzione della "Monella ammaccata", Nuno pubblicato alcuni disegni dei suoi progetti sul forum di Café Racer 351. Dal momento che ai membri del CR351 i suoi progetti sono piaciuti parecchio, Nuno ha deciso di aprire una sua pagina di Facebook e ora questa moto rappresenta l'inaugurazione del suo personal garage... It has been a low-cost project conducted for his pure fun. Nuno purchased the bike in order to turn it into a café racer. But, during the construction process, following his inspiration, it ended to be a street-tracker. He tells me: ”I found the bike over the internet. After one month looking at the photos of the dusty bike I decided to see it live. I had a talk with the owner and finally I went to the small village in the district of Leiria, Portugal. When I got there I realized I couldn't have left the village without purchasing that bike. The owner had washed it. The engine started at first attempt. And I found myself with a new bike (…) The bike is fantastic to ride. Is fairly light and easy to drive. It is not a bike with a lot of speed. That was not the objective. I proposed myself to build me a bike to ride and have fun. And that's what I have”. Love it!
E 'stato un progetto a basso costo realizzato per il suo puro divertimento. Nuno ha acquistato la moto per farne una Café Racer. Ma, durante la costruzione, seguendo la sua ispirazione, ha finito per realizzare una street-tracker. Mi dice: "Ho trovato la moto su internet. Dopo un mese a guardare le foto della moto impolverata ho deciso di vederla dal vivo. Ho contattato il proprietario e, alla fine, sono andato al piccolo villaggio nel distretto di Leiria, in Portogallo. Quando sono arrivato ho capito che non avrei lasciato il posto senza comprare quella moto. Il proprietario l'aveva lavata. Il motore s'è avviato al primo colpo. E mi sono ritrovato con una nuova moto (...) La moto è fantastica da guidare. E 'abbastanza leggera e facile da guidare. Non è una moto velocissima. Non era quello l'obiettivo. Mi sono proposto di costruirmi una moto da guidare per divertirmi. E questo è quello che ho realizzato". Bellissimo!
