CB750 Babe Blue

Questa stupenda CB750 special del 1973 è l'ultima realizzazione di Brady Young con Seaweed & Gravel (di Leucadia, tra Los Angeles e San Diego in California). Io dico che vale la pena leggerne la storia di questa moto nel resto di questo post.

David Patri of Seaweed and Gravel met Brady Young a little over a year ago. “I had a beater CB750 in the back of my truck at the time – he says – I told him this would be my babe. He kinda smiled while we made plans for other builds that were much more in the forefront. This build got pushed back by each client that came along. I didn't really mind because I knew she was going to be amazing. As it happens, some of the other builds were the testing grounds to work out the mistakes so this bike would be right the first time around. Well I am happy to say Brady nailed it on the head. The build takes me back to my childhood, no doubt. Growing up my dad had a '70 El Camino the same color and I drove a '70 Nova the same color. The number was my number growing up and it has significance in my adult life as well. This bike will be for sale but we have not come up with a cost yet. I hope I can ride her for a little while at least.” 

David Patri ha incontrato Brady Young poco più di un anno fa. “Avevo un frullino CB750 sul mio camion – racconta – Gli ho detto che sarebbe stata la mia bimba. Lui ha sorriso mentre progettavamo altre moto più urgenti. La costruzione però è stata rimandata ogni volta che arrivava un nuovo cliente. Non mi importava perché sapevo che sarebbe stata sorprendente. Come spesso accade, alcune delle altre realizzazioni sono state il campo prova e questa moto è risultata la prima in assoluto. Beh, sono felice di dire che Brady ci ha azzeccato in pieno. Questa moto mi riporta alla mia infanzia, senza dubbio. Negli anni settanta, mio padre aveva una Chevrolet El Camino dello stesso colore e ho anche guidato una Chevrolet Nova di quegli anni, dello stesso colore. Il numero 11 è stato il mio numero fortunato da giovane e ha un significato anche nella mia vita da adulto. Questa moto sarà messa in vendita, ma non ne abbiamo ancora deciso il prezzo. Spero di poterla guidare per un po' almeno.
