Lance Weil was a road racing pioneer and owner of Rickey Racer, a Laverda high-performance shop based in Burbank, California. He was one of the first Americans to race in Europe in the 1960s and the only American to win the British Roadracing Championship in 1966 and 1967. He also got forth at the 1967 Isle of Man Production 750 cc TT on his Triumph. He unfortunately died in 2006 at 68 yo, fatally injured in an accident while working on a lathe in his shop in Hatboro, Pennsylvania. A piece of metal flew out of the lathe and hit him on the head... Sad. This HD remains an inspiration for several contemporary releases.
