R80 Carnera by EEM

After 30 years of service as reliable tourer, this 1983 R80RT, fully covered by its comfortable -but ugly- fairing, would have been destined to bring around some aged executive to short trips in the city neighbourhoods without any claim to be admired by anyone… But the owner from Tuscany decided to change its future. Our friends at Emporio Elaborazioni Meccaniche in Roma stripped down to her frame this ancient but no longer attractive lady, modified the shape of her tank, shortened the subframe, changed and simplify the electric, including instruments, wiring and battery (which is now a small lithium one), add countless custom components, including the leather seat and details and the aluminium fenders, the Ducati sidepanels etc. They gave her a proper voice with the new custom 2 in 1 exhaust, elegant vintage style commands and made it a one off charmy scrambler… Yessss they did. The name? Carnera, from the great boxeur Primo Carnera, the good giant.

Dopo 30 anni di servizio come affidabile tourer, questa R80RT del 1983, interamente coperta dalla sua confortevole -ma brutta- carenatura, sarebbe stata destinata a portare in giro qualche attempato professionista per brevi viaggi fuori porta senza alcuna pretesa di essere ammirato da chicchessia... Ma il proprietario, toscano, ha deciso di cambiarne il futuro. I nostri amici di Emporio Elaborazioni Meccaniche di Roma hanno completamente denudato questa anziana ma non è più attraente signora, modificato la forma del suo serbatoio, accorciato il telaio sottosella, cambiato e semplificato l’impianto elettrico, compresi gli strumenti, il cablaggio e la batteria (che ora è al litio), aggiunto innumerevoli componenti custom, tra cui la sella ed i particolari in autentica pelle e i parafanghi in alluminio, i fianchetti Ducati, ecc. Le hanno dato una voce adatta con il nuovo scarico custom 2 in 1, eleganti comandi stile vintage e ne hanno fatto una affascinante scrambler pezzo unico... Oh si, l’hanno fatto. Il nome? Carnera, come il grande pugile Primo Carnera, il gigante buono.
