Alessandro Dell'Unto's CB750F "Tokyo Legend" winner of the Ferro Honda Award @ the 2017 MBE in Verona

Personally, I'm not particularly excited by motorcycles' beauty contest. I usually avoid to attend, and I really don't like the complains and the arguments that tipically follow the decision of the jury. In addition, too many contests are contaminated by commercial interests and it's not a secret that sometime the podium follows, voluntarily or not, an advertisment contract entered into by the contender with the magazine which organizes the event. Nevertheless, nothing like a beauty contest gives the builders the visibility they need to find new customers and carry on their activity and express their creativity again and in different ways. This time the Honda Ferro Award went to a builder that Inazuma Cafe follows and appreciates from his very beginning. A young enthusiast from Rome whose main business up until now has been running a restaurant with his wife... As his previous projects, this super cafe racer is born in a small basement where Alessandro has been working long hours overnight and during weekends stolen to his family to complete a dream. I won't spend too many words on this bike, since the pictures speak by themselves: the CBF has been rebuilt from scratch. At the rear end an awesome single sided swing-arm and the monoshock conversion gave the bike a different stance. At the front end, a new triple tree and the inverted forks ensure full control of the power and state of the art handling on the streets of the third millenium. The custom exhausts and the air pods make the engine breath at its best. The Kineo spoke wheels and the fine paintjob finally make this rocket a real head turner. Well done Ale, keep on the good work.

Personalmente, non amo i concorsi di bellezza. Solitamente li evito: odio le lamentele e le discussioni che tipicamente seguono le decisione della giuria e troppi concorsi sono contaminati da interessi commerciali: non è un segreto che a volte il podio segue, dolosamente o meno, un contratto di pubblicità stipulato dal concorrente con la testata che organizza l'evento. Tuttavia, niente come un concorso dà ai costruttori la visibilità di cui hanno bisogno per trovare nuovi clienti, portare avanti la loro attività ed esprimere ancora e in modi diversi la loro creatività. Questa volta il premio Honda Ferro è andato a un costruttore romano che Inazuma Cafe segue e apprezza dal suo esordio. Un giovane appassionato la cui attività principale fino a oggi è stata quella di gestire un ristorante con sua moglie... Come i suoi progetti precedenti, questa super  cafe racer è nata in un piccolo seminterrato dove Alessandro ha lavorato per lunghe ore di notte e nei fine settimana rubati alla sua famiglia, per completare un sogno. Non voglio spendere troppe parole su questa moto: le immagini parlano da sole. Una CBF ricostruita da zero. Il retrotreno è stato trasformato con monoammortizzatore e forcellone monobraccio, dando alla moto una linea diversa e più moderna. All'avantreno, nuove piastre e perno e la forcella rovesciata garantiscono pieno controllo della potenza e manegevolezza allo stato dell'arte sulle strade del terzo millennio. Lo scarico artiginale e i filtri K&N lasciano respirare il motore al suo meglio... E i pregiati cerchi Kineo e la livrea accattivante fanno di questo ferro qualcosa che non passa inosservato. Ben fatto Ale, continua così.
